Sterile Processing Educator - The Carle Foundation - Urbana, IL
The SPD Staff Educator develops, plans, implements and evaluates educational programs to meet the needs of Sterile Processing Department and to aide in the professional development of staff. Maintains open and active communication with the medical staff, patient care staff, and interdepartmental staff. Ensures the competency of All SPD staff. Maintains departmental education records in compliance with regulatory guidelines. Oversees quality and infection control initiatives for SPD department. Performs quarterly audits of employee records.
- Provides in-services and continuing education activities to all SPD Staff in collaboration with service group leaders to maintain departmental goals and standards of care at multiple facilities.
- Plans, develops, implements, evaluates and maintains a written, progressive, performance-level orientation program that incorporates departmental goals and standards for SPD staff positions for multiple facilities.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of staff competency training and development at multiple facilities.
- Performs all essential functions of SPD Technician when needed.
- Attends meetings related to SPD department and project updates.
- Responsible for performance improvements and quality initiatives.
