Configuration Management Systems Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and organized configuration management analyst to administer, implement, refine, and tailor, as needed the configuration management plan for a technical government program. The Program is comprised of simultaneous rapid development projects, which requires a tailored approach to configuration management in order to balance aggressive developmental schedules with critical documentation to ensure technical rigor.

Responsibilities: 

The applicant will perform, or assist in the performance of, duties to include the following tasks:

- Implement, manage, and update a tailored, formal Configuration Management Plan for the Program
- Coordinate with Program leadership, engineers, and scientists to analyze and interpret technical data packages for electrical, mechanical, and code design in order to determine and manage appropriate configuration changes
- Administrate all aspects of a custom-developed configuration management database including data linkages, data tracking, and related documentation in order to maintain integrity and traceability of configurations throughout project life cycles
- Control configuration of hardware and software from design through production and critical milestone reviews
- Evaluate change documentation and develop impact assessments for planned configuration changes
- Respond rapidly to urgent deadlines and priority updates
- Track and maintain versioning, status, metrics, and reporting. Perform configuration audits, as appropriate

Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Able to work with fluctuating volumes of work; prioritizes work to meet deadlines and needs of the project
  • Fluent in Change Control Board Secretariat duties and support as well as general configuration management principles, methods, and techniques
  • Proficient with MS Office Products and able to quickly learn new tools and configuration management databases
  • Ability to collect data from different sources and pull information from reports
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate within a team environment and across organizational levels to include co-workers, managers, and customers
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills, and able to perform detail-oriented work

Preferred Skills & Experience: 

  • 2-3 years experience with DoD Engineering programs and projects, specifically with managing configuration management boards.
    Technical background will be helpful
  • Willingness to work with engineering staff to redesign configuration management processes

Education:  A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is preferred.

Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position.

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.  

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
