Facility Driver - Sherwin-Williams - Minneapolis, MN


The Facility Driver is responsible for delivering both Sherwin-Williams products as well as an exceptional standard of service to our customers. Must currently hold a Class C license with a HazMat endorsement.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1st shift

Compensation: $20,00 - $23.00 hourly

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at Facility #4347, located at: 10695 Winnetka Avenue, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445

Step 3 – In-Store Interview 

Your video interview is reviewed by a member of our Recruitment team and our top candidates are invited to meet with our team in a store, specialty wholesale branch, floorcovering facility or delivery service terminal.

This position requires a Commercial Driver’s License with a hazardous materials endorsement and a valid DOT Medical Card. It can operate any size and weight of vehicle and transport more than 1,000 lbs. of hazardous materials. 

Ensure deliveries are loaded on vehicle to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner.

  • Load customer orders and properly secure on truck for delivery to prevent merchandise damage and unsafe load shifting
  • Deliver merchandise to customer and obtain signature by receiving party to document proof of delivery.
  • Collect COD check payments from customers on deliveries if required. 
  • Record information on appropriate forms for proper completion of orders, requests and returns.

Comply with all laws, traffic regulations, safety procedures, etc., when driving a vehicle.

  • Must be able to operate a Commercial Vehicle (GVWR>10,000 lbs and <26,000 lbs). 
  • Ensure appropriate shipping documents are completed for all deliveries. 
  • Must have a Commercial Driver’s license with a Hazardous Materials Endorsement.
  • Must have a satisfactory DOT Safety ranking from previous DOT Employer.
  • Must have Valid US DOT Medical Card. 
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Properly report all accidents/damages/violations involving vehicle.

Deliver a wide variety of paint related items to different addresses and through different routes.

  • Follow routes and time schedule from mobile device.
  • Load, unload, secure, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle.
  • Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints.
  • Inform customers about new products and services.
  • Ensure customers’ quality and service expectations are met. 
  • Document and refer potential wholesale leads to manager and/or sales representatives. 
  • Use mobile device to access route to log progress throughout the route. 
  • Properly use and follow GPS Navigation to every delivery.
  • Communicate with facility management team as needed.
  • Complete vehicle maintenance and up keep of vehicle image.
  • Follow job site safety protocols and wear proper safety attire when needed.

May also be called upon to perform other tasks as needed, including warehouse duties, tinting and mixing customer orders and waiting on customers in our facility.

  • Operate all material handling, tinting and mixing equipment in a safe manner. 
  • Ensure merchandise has been processed through the POS prior to merchandise leaving the store. 
  • Maintain facility to S-W standards through proper maintenance, repair and housekeeping.
  • Must be familiar with the proper handling, storing, labeling, cleaning up spills, disposing of and filing all paperwork associated with hazardous material/waste.
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees. 
  • May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required. 
  • May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present. 
  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt. 
  • Work surfaces may include concrete. 
  • Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds. 
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs. 
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. 
  • Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required. 
  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone. 
  • Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
