Role Overview:

The Senior Manager Marketing and Communications – UK & Europe is a key appointment for the Leidos Commercial & International Sector. Reporting to the Sector Marketing & Communications Lead, you will hold an internal and external customer- facing role, providing management oversight, direction, and guidance in the areas of:

  • Internal Communications
  • Marketing Campaigns
  • Employee Engagement
  • Social Value
  • Events
  • Press & Media
  • Branding

You will also lead and supervise the Leidos UK MarComms team with a focus on:

  • Supporting the Leidos UK & Europe chief executive and communicating business priorities
  • Developing clear marketing campaigns and internal communications strategies to promote Leidos’ innovative, client-focused logistics, civil, national security and defence activities.
  • Fostering a culture of growth, continuous process improvement and delivery excellence.

Your key priorities will include driving engagement in the Leidos strategy, mission and brand, ensuring the UK is actively represented in the Leidos corporate brand and right sizing marketing campaigns and events activity in support of business growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee internal and external executive communications for the Leidos UK Chief Executive (e.g., employee messages, talking points, media prep) ensuring leadership visibility. 
  • Lead the development of long-term marketing and communications plans.
  • Establish and maintain a working environment that fosters an inclusive culture, reflects our Leidos values, and fully supports UK programmes achieving on time, cost effective and highest quality deliverables.
  • Encourage the wider team to experiment with new channels, technologies and strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the creation of impactful content, including media / press releases, articles and social.
  • Ensure open, effective and transparent communications.
  • Partner with the Chief Technology Office to market our thought leadership and technology roadmap.
  • Continue to build the Employee Value Proposition and implement it throughout the business, working with Talent Acquisition and People & Culture to ensure that it is fit for purpose.
  • Manage budgets with Corporate and Business Development teams to ensure we have measurable return on investment and cost containment.
  • Set goals and expectations for direct reports consistent with the UK strategic and tactical goals and objectives.
  • Differentiate Leidos through effective communications, an active social value programme, and leading-edge branding and digital strategies.
  • Ensure that hospitality rules are understood and applied at events to UK client and Corporate requirements.

About You:

  • Prior experience in a Marketing & Communications role, with the ability to successfully manage projects to conception to completion.
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of the organisation, understand what executives need to do to be successful, and roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • Experience of working in the government sector and understanding of the environment this brings. Awareness of the competitive landscape that Leidos operates in is highly advantageous.
  • A good leader, with a proven track record in people management and success in building, development and mentoring high performing teams.
  • Strong background in content marketing, with a track record of increasing content KPIs by developing engaging content and managing content distribution channels in a context where thought leadership is important.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and extract actionable insights.
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation, with the ability to influence and use innovation to drive effective marketing & communications outcomes.
  • You will be expected to travel to support the needs of the business and flexibility will be required to meet this requirement.
