This is a rotating 12-hour shift, four (4) days on / four (4) days off.
The Production Supervisor role is based in Nazareth, PA and reports to the Production Manager.
- Supervise and direct the production employees on the assigned operating shift including coaching, counseling, and training.
- Ability to supervise the operation of the plant from the central control room through plant control systems as well as providing troubleshooting for production, process control, equipment, and quality problems.
- Work directly with maintenance and other departments on a daily basis to coordinate and manage the needs of the business.
- Supervise daily shift changeover meetings.
- Responsible for on-line process, quality and equipment failure analysis, and the corresponding corrective action.
- Ensure timely call-out of maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate and implement small projects.
- Prepare operating shift logs.
- Participate in the planning and execution of the annual shutdown.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Essential Experience and Skills
- High School diploma
- Mechanical experience with process equipment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to make timely and critical decisions – able to work under conditions of stress and deal with a multitude of tasks simultaneously
- Motivation, ability, and willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime as needed to ensure leadership coverage and support for the operation
- Cement plant experience or closely related industry
- Able to supervise and troubleshoot all different kinds of technical, operational, quality, and environmental problems
- Working knowledge and technical understanding of cement manufacturing process and its equipment, process control systems, and lab systems
Preferred Experience and Skills
- 5 years or more cement plant operating experience
- College education or post high school technical training
- Understanding of the chemistry of raw mix, clinker, and cement
- SAP
Work Environment
- Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
