Director of Plant Ops - Featherstone - Franciscan Ministries - Iowa City, IA

Featherstone Senior Living, a brand new Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Support community set to open on September 1st in Iowa City, is looking for a dynamic Director of Plant Operations to help start up the community! This position directs and oversees Plant Operations, Maintenance, Housekeeping Manager, and security functions in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements within our community.

• Plans, organizes, develops, implements, and directs the Maintenance Department and its programs and activities.
• Manages all capital projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to safety, state, and federal regulations during the process. Serves as liaison to contractors, vendors, and corporate office.
• Oversees the safety, security, fire protection, and prevention programs in accordance with company policies, state, federal, county, and OSHA regulations to ensure the facility and grounds are maintained to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
• Oversees preventative maintenance functions and assigns appropriate personnel to complete tasks in a timely manner throughout our community.
• Part of Senior Leadership.

• Associate’s Degree or Trade School Certifications or 3-5 years of work experience in general carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
• Knowledge of building codes, HVAC, boilers, compressors, generators, various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and OSHA regulations for long-term care facilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must enjoy working with the senior population.
