Facility Technician I - Compliance Inspector - Clean Harbors - Dix, NE


We Build with Passion- Clean Harbors Kimball, NE NEW Incineration unit is seeking an Facility Technician- Compliance Inspector. This role is responsible for working with the Compliance Manager to sustain and improve the facility compliance program by meeting all facility permit requirements, maintaining facility records, assisting in facility inspections and compliance reviews, and achieving all agency reporting deadlines.  Position will cross-train with compliance technicians to support facility inspections and Subpart BB program.  15-20% field work, 80-85% office work. Day shift, Monday- Friday 45 hours per week, hourly pay, paid weekly.

  • Assist the Compliance Manager with the preparation of reports and RCRA/OSHA facility training modules.
  • Conduct on-site inspections, as requested by the Compliance Manager.
  • Review and manage facility compliance records as required.
  • Perform quarterly ambient sampling for soils, rainfall, air, etc. and review laboratory results for quality assurance.
  • Audit and update Subpart BB program and work with compliance operators to manage field activities
  • Notify Compliance Manager of incidents/accidents and maintain facility incident and corrective action records.
  • Conduct tours of the facility, as directed by the Compliance Manager.
  • Review facility permits to gain an understanding of the permit conditions/limitations and assist in updating permits as needed.
  • Perform quality control and compliance reviews of reports, facility processes, and data.
  • Answer telephones in a professional and courteous manner and direct inquiries to appropriate parties as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management and as required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
  • High school diploma or equivalent- required
  • B.S. or Associates Degree in science-related field -strongly preferred
  • Must have Environmental/Science focus
  • Critical thinking and creative problem solving 
  • Highly motivated with strong work ethic 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work well in team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of math, chemistry, and chemical testing
  • Proficient in primary Microsoft Office applications (required
  • Valid US DL required
